Year 2012 marks 30th anniversary of Falklands War. To mark the occasion here’s my impression of a sapper from 9 Para Squadron, Royal Engineers.
Rok 2012 to 30. rocznica wojny o Falklandy. Z tej okazji – sylwetka sapera z 9 Kompanii Spadochronowej Royal Engineers.
British 68 pattern DPM uniform, with DMS boots and puttees, cold weather parka with 58 pattern webbing. Topped up with maroon beret of airborne forces with RE cap badge. Armed with 7.68mm L1A1 SLR. TO the butt of the rifle attached shell dressing for ease of access.
Brytyjski mundur wzór 68, buty DMS z onucami, kurtka zimowa i oporządzenie wzór 58. Na głowie bordowy beret wojsk powietrznodesantowych z odznaką Royal Engineers. Uzbrojenie to karabin samopowtarzalny 7,62mm L1A1. Do kolby karabinu przymocowany opatrunek osobisty – dla szybkiego dostępu.
